Testimonials

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to give my testimony concerning my rotator cuff surgery. Prior to my surgery in May of 2008 I had fallen on a concrete sidewalk. The damage was such that I could not use my left arm. Daily functions and sleeping were continually painful. I was apprehensive about having surgery because of all the negative opinions expressed to me. Looking back I would recommend that everyone checks out all their options with a health professional. The surgery has allowed me to continue playing golf which I really love to do. Golf is better than ever! Despite the fears, everything went extremely well – the surgery, the re-hab and care I received. Thank you so much Dr. Hutton and OrthoWest. God bless all of you.

I was a patient of Dr. Brown's in 1994/1995, in which I had knee surgery. I had three other knee operations before I was his patient. My previous physician had warned me not to do anything too strenuous and basically not to be active. Dr. Brown gave me a new lease on life and encouraged me to be active and stay active. It has been 12 years since I met Dr. Brown and I am in the best shape of my life. I ride 2,500 to 3,500 miles a year on my bike. I play Frisbee and catch with my kids, as well as many other activities. This is all because of Dr. Brown's encouragement.

After my recovery Dr. Brown prescribed two knee braces for me (ACL deficient in both knees; previous surgeries). I wear these braces religiously when I do activities; however, after 12 years the straps are stretched out, the chamois material is falling out, and the condyle pads are taped in. In general, they are worn out.

I no longer live in the Kansas/Nebraska area, but I would like to know if there is any way I can get a prescription to replace my braces. I believe I got them from Midwest Orthotics in Omaha. If I need to come in to town, my in-laws (Gary Morriss, coached Dr. Brown's children in soccer) still live in Omaha and we visit two or three times a year, so if I needed to, I could.

Please help a success keep on going.

I injured my shoulder in a skiing accident. Being a firefighter/paramedic, I wanted to choose an experienced doctor. After hearing positive comments, I chose Dr. Hutton. Dr. Hutton and the staff at Orthowest are very knowledgeable and accommodating. I really appreciated the courteous and professional care I received.

I ended up having surgery to repair my rotator cuff. Thanks to Dr. Hutton and his staff, I am now back to 100%.

I would recommend Dr. Hutton to anyone.

Thanks again,

In 1990 I sustained an anterior cruciate ligament tear and a left medial and lateral meniscus tear while playing in a basketball game. After being seen by two other physicians with recommendations ranging from I shouldn't do anything, to using hamstring graft and stainless steel screws (telling me that they were as good as titanium), I decided to get one more opinion.  I subsequently saw Dr. David Brown in consultation for this injury and he spent a considerable amount of time explaining the procedure he would be performing, the research supporting the surgery, and the somewhat new titanium screw that he would be using during the procedure for the graft. Because I am a dentist and knew the science supporting titanium screws, I agreed with this treatment plan and underwent an anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using patellar tendon graft with titanium screw stabilization.

Since that surgery 15 years ago, I have resumed full unrestricted activity including basketball, skiing and biking. Dr. Brown has since taken care of my daughter and son. They are high level athletes who had similar problems and they too have done exceptionally well.  Dr. Brown and his staff have been extremely compassionate, caring and competent at each and every visit.

Thanks to Dr. Brown and his staff for all the wonderful care they have provided to me and my family.

Dr. Robert Hurley, DDS

I would just like to drop you a quick note about the care I received from Dr. Michael C. Thompson and his staff at OrthoWest.

I have been very impressed with the care given to me throughout my accident surgery and aftercare. Dr Thompson and his staff always took extra time to answer questions and made sure I was well informed along the way. I know many patients pass thru on a daily basis, but I never felt rushed or put off, whether it was questions regarding my care or insurance issues.

I know Dr. Thompson is new to the staff at OrthoWest. I am just glad he was there to provide a service to me after my accident. He is exactly what a patient wants and expects when they must go thru a surgery and aftercare. He took time to make sure all my questions were answered and explained exactly what procedures would take place. He also explained what to expect during recovery. He was very calming yet honest with expectations after my injury. Dr. Thompson also took time to explain and answer questions my family members had. He and his staff are to be commended for their service.

I would like to extend my thanks to him and his staff. If I need any orthopaedic care in the future I will certainly go to OrthoWest!

Thank you,
Daniel Glover

The care at Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital was also exceptional. I am very impressed with the facility and the staff there.
