Physician assistants are an integral part of our healthcare team, and their assistance is the cornerstone of our ability to offer you effective and timely medical care. A physician assistant (or PA) is a licensed health professional who practices medicine under the direct supervision of your physician.
Physician assistants help in providing quality, efficient, and professional orthopaedic, sports medicine, and preventive healthcare services to our patients. Services performed by PAs while practicing with physician supervision include but are not limited to eliciting patient histories and performing physical examinations; ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; implementing and maintaining patient management plans for medical and surgical conditions; counseling patients to include prescribed therapeutic regimens; and facilitating the referral of patients in the provision of continuity of care. They also treat minor injuries and assist the physician in orthopaedic surgery.
In short, each of our physician assistants helps a physician in their practice. This activity helps us fulfill our goal, which is to return our patients to an active lifestyle in the shortest time possible.
